Data usage example

In multiplayer games, data usage grows exponentially with the amount of players in a lobby. This is because every player's data has to be sent to each other participant. The difference is noticeable when comparing lobbies with 4 and 8 players. In the calculation example, we've taken an average player data usage of 60 mb/hour. Naturally this number can be higher or lower depending on your game.

When deciding on the number of players your game's lobbies will accommodate, be aware that higher player counts will result in exponentially increased data consumption and, consequently, higher costs.

4 players/lobby

Average player data usage: 60mb/hour.
Full lobby data usage: 720 mb/hour.

8 players/lobby

Average player data usage: 60mb/hour.
Full lobby data usage: 3360 mb/hour.

Additional Data Packs

Additional data packs are available for those whose multiplayer game gains a lot of traction. These packs add up to the data capacity already included in your plan and can be added via the control panel when logged in. If you have two or more API keys active on the same account, you can share your data capacity across all your API keys. Additional data packs are only available on our advanced plan. 1GB = $0,016.
